Lecture with professor Pierre Vercauteren of Université Catholique de Louvain, mediated by professor Bruno Magalhães of IRI PUC-Rio.

Professor Pierre Vercauteren has a licence in Political Science and is specialized in International Relations at Université Catholique de Louvain, in Belgium, and has a Master's degree in European Studies, also from UCL. He acquired his PhD degree in 1998, at the Free University in Brussels. He has been and advisor for two ministries in Belgium between 1988 and 1992, and was a professor at UCL, currently is a guest professor at the Institute for European Studies at the Free University of Brussels and is a guest professor at the Université Paris-Est. Prof. Vercauteren is also the secretary general of REGIMEN (Research Network on Globalisation, International Governance and the Transformation of the State), and a member of LIPHA (Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire d’Etude du Politique Hannah Arendt).
