IRI RECEIVED DELEGATION OF NORWEGIAN EDUCATION SPECIALISTS

Last Monday, November 16th, the Institute of International Relations (IRI) received a Norwegian delegation made up by twenty representatives of some of the country’s most prominent universities, including counselor Tone Flood Strøm, of Norway’s Education and Research Ministry. While visiting PUC-Rio, the delegation sought to stimulate new partnerships, as well as cooperation and exchange projects alongside the University.

At IRI, Director Paulo Esteves and Professor Maira Siman presented the Institute’s projects that count on the collaboration of Norwegian institutions, including the Global South Unit for Mediation (GSUM) and Brazil’s Rise to the Global Stage (BraGS), a network that seeks to understand Brazil’s humanitarian role and counts on the support of the Peace Research Institute of Oslo (PRIO).

The visit was an important moment to present IRI’s current projects and, in particular, to discuss perspectives and challenges to Norway’s collaboration with Brazilian institutions, including those in the fields of human and social sciences.
