IRI holds lecture on "The Role of Community Justice in the Democratization of Access to Justice"

The Institute of International Relations held, on 12 May 2016, the lecture "The Role of Community Justice in the Democratization of Access to Justice", with Dr. Glaucia Foley, Founder and Coordinator of the Community Justice Program of the Federal District of Brasília.

In her presentation, Dr Glaucia Foley began with the premise the the access to justice is not limited to access to Judicial Power to analyse the starring role of Community Justice in the construction of a democratic society, of rights and equality. Then, she presented the Community Justice Program of the Federal District, which enables community agents to act in the activities of community mediation, education about rights, and communication via social networks in Ceilândia, featuring the principle advances and challenges of the initiative.
