IPS Winter School 2020

International Political Sociology (IPS) as a field of study is guided by the understanding that International Relations (IR) stands to benefit by opening itself up to contributions of other Social Sciences. From its start, IPS has been conceived as a space for more productive collaboration among IR specialists, political sociologists, political theorists and scholars across the social sciences that share an interest in the problems of the modern international.

The IPS Winter School provides post-graduate students and early career academics an opportunity to immerse in an intensive academic experience in the theory, methods and current research in international political sociology. Activities include courses, tutorials, workshops, roundtables and informal discussions in an environment that will facilitate scholarly exchanges and socialization among participants

This year’s IPS Winter School will take place from the 29th of June to the 10th of July and will be attended by the following guest professors: RBJ Walker (University of Victoria & PUC-Rio), Jef Huysmans (Queen Mary University of London), Debbie Lisle (Queen’s University Belfast), Vicki Squire (University of Warwick), Sam Opondo (Vassar College), Kyle Grayson (Newcastle University).
